Program Manager

Valérie is Program Manager at The Exchange where she plays a pivotal role in developing and implementing the organization’s programmatic strategy and impact. She focuses on translating ideas into action by identifying partner institution opportunities and funding sources, fostering synergies, and driving programmatic engagement across multiple initiatives in the city and beyond.

Valérie brings 10+ years of experience in diplomacy and multilateral and international financial institutions in the fields of climate and development. She joined The Exchange from the International Monetary Fund where she led the engagement of the Fiscal Affairs Department’s Climate Policy Division in UNFCCC negotiations and within the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action.

Prior to that she worked at the United Nations in New York for the government of France where she was lead negotiator on the Global Compact for Migration, the first intergovernmental agreement covering international migration. During that time, she also acted as lead EU negotiator on affairs related to the climate resilience and sustainable development of Least Developed Countries (LDCs) at the UN General Assembly and UN Economic and Social Council.

Valérie holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University. Before calling New York City home she lived and worked in Paris, Madrid, Mexico City, Beirut, and Washington, DC. If not on Governors Island, you’ll usually find her on or off the theater stage.
